AI Quota
How Decuga measures and replenishes your AI usage allowance
Why does it show ~97% used on day one?
This is expected behaviour, not an error. You have not used any AI credits — the bar is simply showing how much of your monthly allowance your first day's portion represents.
Decuga uses a daily top-up model. Instead of giving you the entire month's credits upfront, a small portion is added each day. On your very first visit, only today's slice is available — roughly 1/31 ≈ 3% of the monthly total — so the bar reads ~97% used before you've done anything.
Example — Free plan, first day of the month
| Monthly allowance | 100 credits |
| Days in month | 31 |
| Today's top-up | ~3 credits (1/31 of monthly allowance) |
| Available balance | ~3 credits |
| Bar shows | 97% used ← your starting view |
After tomorrow's top-up the available balance grows to ~6 credits (2/31 of monthly), so the bar drops to ~94% used. After a full month with no usage it reaches 0% used (full allowance available).
How quota works
Each account has a credit balance that grows a little every day and is drawn down as you use AI features. Here's how the three-part cycle works:
Daily top-up
Each calendar day, your account receives 1/N of the monthly allowance added to your balance (where N = days in the current month). This happens automatically on your first AI action of the day — you never need to do anything to trigger it.
Balance rolls over
Unused credits carry forward to the next day. If you don't use any AI on Monday, Tuesday's top-up is added on top — you accumulate a larger buffer over time.
Capped at monthly limit
Your balance can never exceed the plan's monthly allowance. Unused days roll forward, but you can never stockpile more than one full month's worth of credits.
What the bar colours mean
Credits by plan
| Plan | Monthly allowance | Daily top-up (31-day month) |
|---|---|---|
| Free / Guest | 100 credits | ~3 credits/day |
| Starter | 200 credits | ~6 credits/day |
| Pro | 500 credits | ~16 credits/day |
| Business | 1,000 credits | ~32 credits/day |
| Enterprise | Unlimited | — |
Higher-tier plans receive proportionally more credits. A typical document generation (PRD, Architecture, Design) uses between 1 and 5 credits depending on length and complexity.
FAQ
I signed up 10 seconds ago and it already shows 97% — is something wrong?
No. You haven't spent anything. On day one your balance equals only today's slice out of a full month's allowance. The percentage will decrease each day as new credits are added automatically.
When does my balance replenish?
Your daily top-up is added automatically on your first AI action each calendar day. You don't need to do anything to trigger it.
What happens if I run out mid-generation?
The generation will fail with a quota exhausted message. Your balance replenishes the following day. Partially generated content is not charged.
Do unused credits expire?
Unused credits carry forward indefinitely up to a cap of one full month's allowance. They do not reset at the start of the month — they accumulate until they hit the monthly ceiling.
Does upgrading my plan immediately give me more credits?
Yes. When you upgrade, the new (higher) daily allowance is topped up on your next AI action, and the monthly cap increases to the new plan's limit straight away.
I used a document before signing up — does that count?
Guest usage is tracked separately before you create an account. It does not carry over to your personal balance once you register.
